Name: Alankrit Mathur

Title: Lighting Artist at Technicolor Games

Department: Game Lighting

Length of career in the industry: 12 years

Biography:

Growing up, I always cherished watching classic cartoons and playing computer games, and to be honest, I still do. Back then, I really thought that these were the best days of my life. But fast forward to today, and here I am, working as a Senior Artist on projects that one can only dream of alongside some of the best talent in the industry.

Beyond my work, I enjoy singing, playing guitar, photography, sketching and travelling, to name just a few.

How did your career begin?

After completing my Animation degree in 2011, I seized an internship opportunity at Technicolor. I was fortunate enough to kickstart my journey by contributing to Kung-Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, my inaugural project. From that point onwards, every day has been a roller coaster ride, filled with myriad learning experiences and moments of joy.

Then in 2017, I joined Technicolor Games as a Lighting Artist and was given the chance to work on my first ever game, “Starlink: Battle for Atlas”, which for me was a game changer. Coming from an episodic background, it was quite difficult in the beginning but thanks to the assistance and advice from my peers and colleagues, I was able to learn and adapt quickly.

What is your most memorable project at Technicolor Games?

While each project is uniquely memorable, working on FIFA stands out for me. Having grown up playing FIFA, being a part of its development is an experience beyond words.

What is it like working at Technicolor Games?

At Technicolor Games, work-life balance and employee wellbeing are of topmost priority. Employees are offered flexible schedules and resources for managing workload and stress, which fosters a positive work environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Additionally, with an amazing work culture the employees feel valued, supported and motivated to bring out the best in themselves.

What are you excited about for the future?

I’m thrilled about the prospect of working on diverse projects, each presenting its own set of challenges and creative opportunities. There’s a lot to look forward to, including business expansion and more chances to learn and grow as an artist.
